What AI workers do
AI systems learn from examples that people create, and teams test the systems against such examples. Contractors may label data, compare outputs, transcribe audio, check whether an answer follows instructions or review other people's work. Depending on the project, the work can be repetitive, subjective or highly specialized.
Data annotation labels or describes information. AI evaluation checks model behavior and outputs. Both rely on accuracy, guidelines and consistent judgment.
The work model
Most opportunities are independent-contractor projects without a guaranteed salary. You may need identity and eligibility checks, qualification assessments and separate onboarding for each project. Work volume, pay rates and project duration can change.
Never treat a recruiter's message as proof of a contract. Confirm requirements and payment through the platform's own official site.
A sensible first application
- Choose an accessible track. Look at data annotation, text evaluation or language tasks based on your skills and region.
- Check eligibility. Country, work authorization, language and minimum qualifications vary.
- Prepare a truthful CV. Focus on transferable skills such as communication, consistency, domain knowledge and following processes.
- Read task instructions carefully. Many screenings test whether you follow exact constraints. Knowing AI buzzwords helps little.
- Apply on the official platform. Keep account details and passwords private. Nobody else should ask for your login.
What to expect after applying
You may see a profile review, a short interview, timed or untimed assessments, verification steps and project-specific onboarding. Platforms don't invite everyone to active work right away. No legitimate guide can guarantee admission or regular assignments.
Never pay a stranger for access to a job, to bypass an assessment or to buy a “guaranteed” account.
One optional example
I wrote these examples for learning. They come from no platform assessment, and there is no score.
